What happened at Luin Living in 2021?

In work life, we are used to constantly striving for new achievements, but sometimes it is worthwhile to look back and remember what great things we have already accomplished. With the help of our entire team, we gathered memorable things that happened to us last year and wanted to share them with you as well. There are such great achievements, fun moments and even small mistakes that we learned a lot from.

21 things that happened at Luin Living in 2021

1. For the first time, our turnover was over 1 million (1.5 million to be exact)
2. We hired two international employees and switched our team’s language to English.
3. The first Luin Living baby was born.
4. We returned to the fairs after a break of more than a year (Maison & Objet Paris in September).
5. We were awarded the Design from Finland label.
6. The global pandemic affected our operations e.g. in terms of high procurement costs and material shortages. 
7. But we still managed to launch more new products during the year than ever before.
8. We built a shop-in-shop for Stockmann in the center of Helsinki.
9. Our beloved Hair Towel got a new stunning package design for the Christmas market.
10. We filmed the first Reels videos on Instagram.
11. For the first time, our founders had a vacation that lasted for more than a week.
12. We donated to develop research on cancer in children.
13. We launched the first GOTS certified products (Pure Organic Towel Collection).
14. We were featured on the Good Morning America TV show.
15. We got a bunch of new retailers from all over the world. New countries e.g. Poland and Lithuania.
16. For the first time, we had ten pop up stores at the same time all over Finland.
17. For the first time, we accidentally printed the wrong product name on the product packaging.
18. On Team Day, we sang karaoke with the whole team (and there are videos of this that will be hidden forever). 
19. We opened an online store for consumers in Japan.
20. We worked closely with another Finnish sustainable brand, Papu Design, in Christmas pop up stores.
21. We had to postpone our team’s Christmas party three times, but hopefully soon we will be able to celebrate all these great accomplishments together.
