The cotton is Oeko-Tex certified, ensuring that no harmful substances are used in its production. The bamboo is FSC-certified, guaranteeing that every step of its journey from forest to fabric adheres to ethical and ecological standards, respecting both nature and people. Additionally, the bamboo fiber is processed mechanically without the use of chemicals.
There are two distinct approaches to producing bamboo textiles: mechanical and chemical processes. Luin Living exclusively uses mechanically produced bamboo. However, this method is rare due to its greater time consumption and cost. In the mechanical process, the woody part of the bamboo plant is crushed, and natural enzymes are used to break down the bamboo cellulose into yarn. On the other hand, the chemical process involves treating bamboo fibers with chemicals to create regenerated cellulose fiber. Unfortunately, some of the beneficial properties of bamboo are diminished during the chemical process. In summary, only mechanically produced bamboo can be accurately referred to as bamboo, while chemically produced bamboo is known as bamboo rayon.
